Newby Wiske Day 1

Activity 1

So excited to be here for our first day. We settled into our dorms, had some football and then a lovely hot roast dinner. First activity was Archery Tag - Mrs Lamb’s favourite - she’s dangerous with a bow and arrow! Great competitive games. 

Activity 2

Fencing, we learnt the rules and then had a go at scoring points against an opponent.🤺

Activity 3

After a tasty tea we headed out for our final activity of the day Laser Tag. Some unusual events - Wren is immortal, she can never lose hit points regardless of gun! Hugo has magic sensor blocking hair and Bella in our final protect the president game developed immortality too, 😂 

Day 2

So pleased to report that a good night’s sleep had by all and everyone up and ready for a cooked breakfast. Another lovely day and we’re all excited to face the new challenges.

Today has been all about the harnesses - we are now experts at putting them on and taking them off. We’ve faced our fears and conquered the heights!

After a tasty pizza lunch we headed back out for the afternoon’s activities. We did have time for a quick game of football before heading off to our next challenges.

Group 2 - Climbing

After tea we headed out for our final activity of the day, frisbee golf. Hugo has got a very impressive throw! It was lots of fun and a good competition. 🥏

Our last day!

After one final night’s sleep in our pods we are ready and raring to go.

First activity of the day - Orienteering. Lots of running and some questionable map skills - got to wonder what we’ve been teaching you! 😂 After a bit of practice though we were off into the woods and doing fantastically!

Our final lunch of bolognese and it was ready to face the packing before activities. Boys were set the challenge of if you pack quickly enough there’s time for a game of football. Definitely a motivator! Usual comedy of rogue clothes, towels and wrappers that belong to no-one later we were good to go.

One final tea - a popular one this - Katsu curry and then time for final packing up. Despite the large amounts of suitcases, we discovered that the boys didn’t need all those clothes apparently rinsing your head in the sink counts as a shower and they can wear the same clothes solidly for 3 days.
