Inclusion

At Hampsthwaite Church of England Primary School we aim to provide a caring and supportive environment for all pupils including those with disabilities and special educational needs. Children with special educational needs are supported in their learning and, where necessary, have additional or different provision made for them in school. These children range from those who need a little extra help in some specific areas of development to those who need specialist help with their educational or physical needs. It is our policy that all children should be as fully integrated as possible into activities of our whole school. The school’s SEN provision and policy are in line with the SEN Code of Practice and this is outlined in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Policy and School SEND Information Report below.

Each subject leader has also ensured that children within SEND are supported in every subject/ Further information regarding this can be located here

If you have any queries please contact Mrs A. Ross our Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator.

The Local Offer

The local offer provides information on what services children, young people and their families can expect from a range of local agencies, including health and social care. Knowing what information and services are available gives you more choice and therefore more control over what support is right for you and your child. Governor Visit Feedback

"In my role of parent governor, I had the pleasure of visiting school last week. It is always a privilege to see the whole school in action on a ‘typical’ day.  The calmness and inclusive culture shone through from Nursery to Year 6. During my visit I saw how well Team Dragons had settled into their life at school. They were all happy, busy and learning in many different ways in their new environment. The children in Team Pixie were also learning through play and had lots of great things to share. At the other end of school, Team Titan were working together, using their computing skills, whilst Team Griffin were taking great pride in their English work. It was great to see Team Phoenix announce their class ambassadors, after a fair and democratic voting process.  Whilst in school, I also took the opportunity to take a look at the ongoing building work, which has already made a positive impact to the school building.  It will be fantastic for both pupils and staff once it is finished. It was clearly evident that all children and staff feel proud to be part of such a wonderful school and this is represented in everything they do."
