2022-2023

THANK YOU

Thank you to all the wonderful families in Team Griffin 22/23!

Miss Brady (Autumn 22), Mrs Jones, Mrs Nunns-Tidman, Miss Creek and Mrs Proper (Wed am volunteer) and of course, Mrs Hayfield have all commented throughout the year on the wonderful manners, hard work, sensible behaviour and achievements of each and every one of you.

Together we have learnt so much, created things, practised things and improved ourselves.

We all hope you've made some lasting memories in Team Griffin this year.

As some of you move to Team Phoenix, we wish you well for Y4 and Y5.

We are delighted that some of you will remain a part of Team Griffin for 23/24 and guide the new Y3s as they begin KS2.

Best wishes,

Mrs Hudson

July 2023

As the year draws to a close, we celebrate a fantastic year in Team Griffin.

Our Class Book is a wonderful record of events throughout the year. We've enjoyed role play, competitions, assessments, steps of progress, developing skills, building knowledge, developing relationships and lots of fun and laughter.

The Class Share on Monday 26th June went well - persuading the parents and carers to become Roman soldiers and demonstrating the marching techniques and toilet habits of the Romans!

The Music Concert on Friday 30th June was brilliant! A showcase of fantastic musicality within our school. The sound of the piano, guitar, ukulele, drums and Matilda Choir brought joy to the whole audience.

Sports Day on Tuesday 4th June gave everyone a chance to have fun and share their sporting talents in support of their house teams.

We look forward to our School Fayre on Monday 24th July. Team Griffin are working hard, planning our 'BODY ART' stall with hair plaiting, nail painting, glitter 'wisps', tattoos and bracelets. Watch out for our beautifully designed tiles and Buskers' Corner too.

STORY WRITING

We have enjoyed writing our own stories based on some EXTREME EARTH DISASTER. We were inspired by the book FLOOD by Alvaro F Vila, which we used in our English work.

Some of our wonderful book covers are on display in the classroom.

WELCOME BACK!

What a super start we have had - Team Griffin are rockin' and rollin' with so many exciting things for the coming term.

Members of Staff include: Mrs Hudson (formally Mrs Borchard), Mrs Hayfield (the same fabulous TA from last year), Miss Brady (new to the school and teaching Science on a Thursday afternoon) and Mrs Bunting (supporting children to re-visit work).

Our Geography topic is: EXTREME EARTH - exploring the Earth and how it is being affected by extreme weather and climate change.

Watch this space for pictures and exciting news about other areas of the curriculum.
