School Responsibilities

Hampsthwaite School Responsibilities

Head Boy and Head Girl

Head Boy and Head Girl are pupil leadership roles in school; they represent the school's entire student body. These roles are for children who are positive role models for their peers and who share the values and vision of the school so explicitly with the wider community.

House Captains and Vice House Captains

All children are given a house to join when they start with us. These children support their houses to be the best they can be. The collect the house points in a Friday ready for assembly, and are encouraged to speak publicly to their houses as often as possible.

School Development Ambassadors

At Hampsthwaite School we feel it is important to give the children a voice when discussing a range of topics. We involve children from Years 3 to Year 6 in our School Development and provide them with opportunities to work alongside the Senior Leadership Team. The forums meet regularly and will look at our development areas  in detail, from auditing resources and reviewing learning areas to reporting to governors and leading curriculum worship times. They also gather the views of their peers and feedback to the group.

Hampsthwaite CTA

The CTA are a fundraising team of Year 6 children that help raise money for school funds and charities like Children in Need and Red Nose Day. We have a chair and a vice chair who help us make final decisions and plan activities.

We hold events to raise money for charities; these activities often include non-uniform days, colouring competitions and cake bakes. We enjoy planning activities for all  children to do in the hall.

Children really enjoy being part of the CTA and always look for new and exciting ways to fundraise.

A letter from Tilly, Head Girl, 2023

Dear New Families,

We are so glad you have moved to Hampsthwaite School.

As Head Girl you can come to me with any of your problems. I can also helpnyou make friends. Coming to a new school can be hard, sometimes. There's one thing I want you to know - you've come to the right place to achieve all your goals.

This school is like a family; we are all different, yet all the same. We all come together to exceed the biggest goals.
