East Barnby

We had a fabulous time at East Barnby on Thursday. The day started with orienteering on top of the moors. It was pretty cold to start with but once we started running around, we soon warmed up. It was great fun and we learnt how to read and follow maps and work together as a team.

After lunch, we headed back to the centre, where we challenged ourselves with wall climbing. We had to wear lots of protective equipment, learn how to tie different knots and support each other climbing up and abseiling down the wall.

At teatime we headed to Runswick Bay and enjoyed our fish and chips on the beach; they were delicious! The weather was lovely and we enjoyed digging holes, looking for fossils and building sandcastles.

Here are some of the photographs of the day.

SPRING TERM

SPACE CAMP

We ended the spring term with our Space Camp activities. Firstly we formed crews and chose our names and then we had to launch our rockets! Then we did some space training exercises: teamwork and trust are important so we had to guide our teammates through a finger maze,

being able to repair equipment is essential so we constructed jigsaws with our space gloves on,

following instructions from your team help you to carry out maintenance so we built lego models.

We had a blast! laugh

Spring Term

Team Titan go virtual! We will be working on Seesaw this first half term but we will also be posting some resources here too. Please remember to login to Seesaw for your daily work and we look forward to seeing you either on Teams meetings or in school.

Autumn Term

This year is a little bit different to usual with us being in bubbles but there is still lots going on in Team Titan.

Our topic this Autumn term is 'Lest we forget' and we have been doing lots of work on the events of World War II. The children have loved researching and have used a wide range of sources of information to do so.

We have been very lucky to have Mrs Bellerby for Art first this term and have produced some fantastic paintings of poppies, using acrylic paints, inspired by the work of Georgia O' Keeffe.

Our first Science topic was on Light and we enjoyed investigating light and shadows. We are currently learning about Electricity and enjoying the hands on investigations.

In English, we have studied different genres of writing. We have written information texts all about WWII air raids, formal letters of complaint and we are now working on writing informal letters.

The children are trying so hard and have adapted well to our new ways of working.

We are very proud of them.smiley

This is a photo of some of the paintings the children produced with Mrs Bellerby.

Creating our own switches in Science

Our Christmas decorations

At the end of our unit on electricity we worked together to make table decorations using our knowledge of circuits and switches. These made our room look especially festive when we had our Christmas movie night.
